Spoor Farms is owned by Gavin Spoor. A proud first generation farmer, Gavin has always been interested in production agriculture, entrepreneurship, and teaching others about farming and where their food comes from!

From a young age Gavin knew he wanted to be a farmer, he would often accompany his dad to the local John Deere dealership for lawnmower parts and always asked to get the newest toy on the shelf. After receiving his license at the age of 16 he worked for local farmers after school and on the

weekends. Here he not only learned how important a strong work ethic and imagination were to complete many daily tasks on the farm, he also learned how to operate large farm machinery, how to select the proper fertilizer and seed for a crop, and how to prep the fields for a bountiful harvest.

In High school he stayed active in the FFA organization and was very competitive. He placed on the state level in both Forestry and Agronomy. He was also a State Winner in Grain Production Placement.

At the age of 18 he was given the chance to cash rent 6 acres, an opportunity he had been waiting for his entire life! He planted the little soybean seeds in late May and started praying, God took care of the rest. A bountiful crop meant he made just enough to help pay for some college classes at the University of Missouri and put a down payment on his first tractor, an International 1066!

The spring of 2018 brought many new opportunities. With a year under his belt and a few more acres rented Spoor Farms was on to its next adventure- Popcorn! Spoor farms grew 15 acres of popcorn in 2018, and although it was a challenging year weather wise, the harvest was still one to be proud of. Spoor Farms is now in the works of getting this year’s crop packaged and ready for you all to enjoy!
